Hanging Street Work in a White Room

June 6, 2026

Notes from the opening night of the first solo show — and the strange act of framing something that was born on concrete.

There is a specific kind of vertigo in seeing a piece you painted on a loading bay hung under museum lighting at eye level.

What gets lost

Scale, mostly. And weather. A mural photographed at dawn carries the temperature of that morning; a print on a gallery wall carries the temperature of the air conditioning.

What gets found

Attention. Nobody stands in front of a wall for eleven minutes. In the gallery, people did. Watching someone read a piece slowly, for the first time, was worth the compromise.

Every choice about how work is shown is a choice about how long someone will look.

The show ran for six weeks. Two originals stayed with collectors who had followed the walls for years, which felt like the right ending.
